$14.76 plus .80/hour add-on pay. $1000 sign-on bonus available to eligible employees who remain in the position for one year.
Nursing Assistant employees at our facility perform objective-level work, providing direct and indirect nursing care, for geriatric, disabled and/or cognitively impaired clients at the Veterans Home. This care is designed to meet the therapeutic, preventative, restorative, spiritual, psychosocial, cognitive and rehabilitative needs of WVHK members. This position works as an integral part of the health care team under the limited supervision of a Nursing Supervisor and under the direction of licensed nursing staff.
Requirements of this Opportunity
A minimally-qualified applicant must be 16 years of age on or before the effective date of the appointment and have the following:
•Current Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Wisconsin and eligibility to work in a federally-certified nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant; and
•Experience providing Basic Nursing Care; and
•Experience with Interpersonal Communication; and
•Experience with Medical Recordkeeping
This position requires the ability to work in the conditions of the job (e.g., provide patients with assistance in mobility efforts; perform light housekeeping; maintain hygiene; use special safety equipment; wear protective clothing; lift, carry, push, pull, reach, sit, kneel, squat, stand and/or walk up to 75% of an 8-hour day; etc.).
Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to an offer of employment.
Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical and tuberculosis (TB) test.
